Bio
Karney Shannon Puryear was born in Southern California in 1965. He began writing music at 7 years old, when, toward midnight one night, he woke up and wrote his first song. A self-taught musician, he played drums and keyboards in a Phoenix Arizona rock band as a teenager. In the 80s, he worked as a sound assistant at Gram Central Station in Phoenix, for artists including Adam Ant, the Beach Boys, Martha Davis and the Motels and Cheap Trick.
After moving back to California, Karney worked as a studio assistant at Post-Logic Studios, with the awesome Synclavier system, after which he honed his skills in computer-based musical programs such as Saw Pro, Giga Sampler, Cakewalk, Garage Band, and Logic Express. Karney also built entire music computer systems using Giga Studio and Saw Studio, and provided computer expertise in the recording and engineering of "Allegiance to Christ," the debut CD by gospel artist Earl G. Wooten.
Karney's instrument is the piano. He has played solo and with saxophonist Michael Young at various fundraising and celebratory events in Northern and Southern California. He is currently focused on composing, playing, recording, and engineering original instrumental music in various genres, including smooth jazz, blues, classical, rock, electronica, and pop phone # 323 810-1459 lets talk music
